What is Body Storytelling Project?

It is an approach that connects Body, Mind and Emotions to explore, self-reflect and connect to our inner Stories. Stories/beliefs we carry are somehow affecting our life. The way we are exploring this stories is through movement. With exercises that support awareness on our body and emotions, breathing and movement, we re-connect and therefore allow expression to come out of us in any form that feels for us good and safe.

Body Storytelling project is a journey of inner rhythm and movements.

Of deep listening and practice of being present with what is.

It is a process of observing how our inner movement wants to express itself and by that what it is really telling us.

What is releasing? What is liberating.

It can be dancing, walking, crawling or just moving your fingers. Whatever makes you express what is happening inside your body, mind, emotions or soul.

It is about self - exploration and courage to tell your own story. Of sharing your own struggles, challenges that you are facing in your life, motivations, hopes and dreams. It is about telling who you really are at one moment and what your world is like. And it is about passion to inspire others to authentically express what they want to share with the world.

Give it a break… stand still for a while and allow mind to rest. In this silence, observe what is becoming still and what is starting to move from within.

Allow yourself to follow this movement without judging it or wanting to interfere, give sense or explanation.

Move, like river does. Without any questioning of where this is taking you.

Become the audience of your own performance.

Become silent and observing.

Allow your body to tell you your own story.

Some things is so easy to express with words. And for some, there are really no words to describe what we are feeling. Use this place, to create your own moving art.

And let that place heal you!

Body Storytelling Project is a place, where Body and Soul meet through Movement.

What is a story?

The story is a belief that you have about yourself and others.

Sometimes in order to see a story, we have to detach from it. We mainly act from our stories that are produced by ideas about ourselves and the world. A story becomes who we are and we are not even aware it consumes us.

Only when you connect with the core of your being, you realize that you are not your story. The story you carry shaped you and left a mark. It gave you channels through which you communicate, behave, relate, laugh, love etc. but the story is not who you are.

If you could become aware of your stories, you give yourself an opportunity to decide if you still want to follow them or change them. The story is a belief that you have about yourself.

● Beliefs

Our beliefs are creating our stories and gives us sensations and ideas of who we are and how we function. By exploring this ideas about who we are. Around this beliefs we have created patterns of behavior. Our emotional triggers awake each time that this belief is strongly influenced and threatened.

● Defences

When we get threatened, our defences and defence mechanisms awake in order to protect us. If rationalisation and interpretation are one of our defence mechanisms, than we will be constantly using our mind in order to escape emotions that are really there. This will enable us to be present with the emotion itself in the body and not pushing it away.

This movement becomes a play combined by dancing, movement, theater, and spontaneous acts of inspiration.

Let the moment become your playground, your artistic stage, your book of life. Be creative in your storytelling and most of all,

enjoy while creating it.

What comes first, a story or a movement?

Both story and a movement are really interconnected. So it depends on which state we are in, when we enter this exploration. If we are in a relaxed and calm inner emotional and psychological state, than the movement will begin first. Lets say, it will start from movement itself. In best case - from nothingness. And going into movement from there, diving more deeply into it, at some point we will reach a story. A pattern, a belief, an emotion. And in this state exploring our inner stories will be like attending a show on which we perform and observe at the same time.

But if we are in a stressed, emotionally unbalanced state, than the story of our present moment will be the one leading the movement. So basically it does not matter from where we enter this process. Until some of our believes and patterns are not conscious, they will become a part of our dance like they are a part of our life.
